Spring ahead, Fall back
This memory aid tells us how to adjust the clock. In the fall (autumn) the clock will be set back an hour, in the spring it will jump ahead one hour.. Summertime, wintertime, daylight saving time (DST). The concept of DST was first seriously proposed by William Willett in the "Waste of Daylight", published in 1907, but he was unable to get the British government to adopt it, despite considerable lobbying. In 2008 the DST in the US will be from March 9 untill November 2nd, in Europe from March 30th untill October 26th.
