Olivia's Parrots Actually Bite, So Pull Finger--Move Quick!
The Olivia sentence stands for Olivine, Pyroxene, Calcium Plagioclase, Amphibole, Biotite, Sodium Plagioclase, Potassium Feldspar, Muscovite, Quartz. This can be used either for the order of crystalization of igneous minerals, or the order of silicate minerals from least to most resistant. The PC stands for Pyrox. and Cal. Plag., while the initials BS=Biotite and Sod. Feld-these minerals crystalize around the same temperature, so the BS and PC are just a reminder that the order of crystalization is not a sequential as the Olivia mnemonic suggests.
